Here is the outside of the church. You come upon it suddenly through some souvenir street shops. It begins traditionally with a walk down the Via Dolorosa. Known as the traditional route Jesus took while carrying His cross (Although no one knows the route since the Romans destroyed all the roads with the city). This church, located centrally in the old city of Jerusalem, is quite unlike any other. I am not a Christian, but like all places filled with history, intrigue and faith, it is an excellent place to visit. Perhaps the holiest site in Christendom -- believed to be the places of Jesus' crucifixion, entombment, and resurrection. Awesome! This would be the centerpoint of any Christian's pilgrimage to Jerusalem. more
